Production Management Unit
500 word Evaluation of product, what went well with project? What did not? How did you manage the following?
My Evaluations:
At the beginning when I start planning my production management what it would be, I come up with two different genres: horror and culture. I start working on both after some time I made a decision that my video would be based on culture of Punjab. I start doing the brainstorming about the concept of my video what it would be By considering the idea of my videos I start planning that how I will represent and share my idea with others and decided that I will make a video on Punjabi weddings and share with the audience that how they celebrate in their countries specially for those people who are unfamiliar. I watched several videos from the movies of Bollywood industry and did some research on the same topic.
Basically the culture of Punjab is different and unique from all the other culture in the world. They have their own values and tradition which they have to follow. The people from the Punjab are simple and their way of living is simple as well.
On first place, when I started shooting the scenes I found it hard as there were so many people which was keep coming on my way. I have not use the tripod because I had a feeling that it will drop by the people. So apparently I filmed all the scenes by holding camera in my hand all the way to the end scene. There were also so many backgrounds noise going on. The locations was good, everything was set up according to the function requirement. And had enough time to capture the scenes, which I want to use in my film.
After filming, I upload my footage in imovie, where I did all the editing work. I have deleted some of the scenes in the video and used only, which I found good one and will have impact for the audience.
All of the videos are about the particularly one day function called Rasm-e-Hina in Urdu language its called Mehndi. This day is always being happened or celebrated before the marriage/wedding day and it starts from the evening and finish until mid- night. People wear colourful clothes and enjoy this day by doing dance with theirs relatives. This day bring many happiness it self.

Prodution Managemet Dairy
Diary 1
Today is 20/04/2010; I start planning the idea on production management video on rough page. There are different kinds of ideas are coming out in my mind.
Diary 2
I watched different kinds of video based on two genres: one is horror and second one is culture. The horror one was quite hard to make it as my own video idea because all the videos were animated and too scary to be filmed by me.
Diary 3
After doing the research and watched several videos on these two genres I finally made a decision that I will make a video based on culture.
Diary 4
I decided to do the rough brainstorm on the page and right down some rough ideas and notes based on culture.
Diary 5
By using my rough notes and all the information, which I write down on the piece of paper and my research work I finally come up with in a idea. I then gathered all of these work together and made a decision that my video will be based on culture of Punjab and I will show the wedding ceremony that how they celebrate their wedding.
Diary 6
After that I start working on that who will be my target audience and to whom I will allow to watch my videos. Deciding the audience was not very difficult to think as the video will going to be on culture so therefore I want to share with all the people specially those one who did not know about the Punjabi culture.
Diary 7
Today I started organizing my production paper work. I start felling out the storyboards, shooting schedule, call sheet, risk assessment and the script forms.
Diary 8
After filling all the forms, I start filming the scenes of the videos which will represent that how the people from Punjab celebrate their wedding. The scene I filmed is based on the function called Rasm-e-Hina, in Urdu Mehndi. This day is one day before the marriage/wedding day and it happened always in the evening or night times.

It was hard to capture all the moments happening in the function, as there were so many people who were keep coming on my way. Because of many people there I hard to set the tripod as I was feeling the risk of dropping it. What I did I hold the camera in my hand and filmed the scene all the way through my videos.

After finishing the scenes of my videos, I start uploading the footage on the Imovie and start doing the editing. The whole editing process was not fine but was not bad either. It was just ok. I cut some of the scene and used that scene which would be effective and will leave the good impact for audience.

Today I finish of with all the paper work and editing process, now I start going to work on my evaluation. By the end of this week I hope I will hand all the work related to this unit to Chris.
